Football Studio is the football arm of sports marketing company The Purple Tangerine – founded in 2000 by managing director Nigel Jones. Please see biographies below of our key staff as well as some of the causes we support.
Football Studio is headed up by Nigel Jones, a Football Intermediary (formerly known as an Agent licensed by The FA), who has over 20 years experience in creative marketing and sports representation.
Nigel has worked with leading brands including: P&G; adidas; Mars; Motorola; Kellogg's; Bausch & Lomb; EA Sports; PepsiCo/Walkers; Disney; as well as new brands knocking on the door of world fame including Club Footie.
Some of the sports celebrities Nigel has worked with over the years include: Gary Lineker; Stephen Gerard; David Seaman; Teddy Sherringham; Prince Naseem; Ellen MacArthur; Roger Black; Richard Westbrook; Susie Wolf; and Alice Powell.
He has held senior positions with the world's largest advertising and public relations businesses including Saatchi & Saatchi and WPP and specializes in: Representation; Commercial Sponsorship; Sports Marketing; Brand Marketing; Public Relations; and Digital & Social Marketing.
Nigel holds a Level 2 Licensed FA Coach badge and has managed U8s, U9s, U10s and U11s football teams, winning the Ashford & District Youth Football League U11s Title in 2012/2013 Season with FC Pilgrims.
Nigel is a graduate of the London School Of Economics.
Darrell is Football Studio’s lead China Consultant.
Darrell has over 20 years senior commercial management and marketing experience in the sports industry as well as running his own strategic consulting business.
Based in the UK, he visits China once a month having previously been based in Beijing for 10 years. Major clients have included HSBC, Vodafone, Cathay Pacific and Coca-Cola.
Darrell has a strong network within Chinese football including senior decision makers at the Chinese Football Association and top tier clubs.
Darrell has developed a keen understanding of the Chinese social media channels that are key for anyone trying to engage Chinese consumers.
Omar has worked in sports marketing and the sponsorship sectors for over 25 years gaining extensive experience in the world of sports, media and entertainment.
His experience has provided his clients with a tried and tested recipe using PR, hospitality and targeted sponsorship to deliver business objectives.
His football experience is vast including work with the League Manager's Association, Emirates, Bet365 and Coca Cola.
He is currently Global Head of Sponsorship at Lycamobile overseeing the West Ham United sponsorship.
Omar is an Global Ambassador for Football For Peace.
Paul Poole heads up the Football Studio in Thailand. He is an independent marketing consultant with over 20 year's experience of international brand marketing.
Client side between 1988 & 2000 Paul held senior (through the line) marketing positions at Wrangler, Levi Strauss and Co, Polo Ralph Lauren and Diesel.
Agency side between 2000 & 2002 Paul held (Board) Director positions at PR21 (Edelman) and Cohn & Wolfe (WPP). With a creative development brief for clients including; Orange, Coca Cola, Cadbury Trebor Bassett and Guinness UDV.

Bruce is a consultant, leading the insight, strategic and evaluation needs on behalf of Purple Tangerine and it’s clients. His goal is to identify how rights holders can maximise their assets, creating strong, long term partnerships. Bruce has over 10 years experience evaluating global sponsorship properties and creating packages that fit different brand categories objectives. His work on strategies and evaluations has generated over $2 billion dollars in revenue in both global naming rights sales and all levels of sponsor partnerships for properties in the sport, entertainment and leisure industries. Bruce has previously worked for world leading agencies and rights holders including Wasserman Media Group, AEG and IMG.
We support a number of causes including Let’s Kick It Out.
The brand name of the campaign - Let's Kick Racism Out of Football - was established in 1993 and Kick It Out established as a body in 1997. Kick It Out works throughout the football, educational and community sectors to challenge discrimination encourage inclusive practices and work for positive change.
The campaign is supported and funded by the game's governing bodies, including founding body the Professional Footballers Association (PFA), the Premier League and The Football Association. 2004 marked ten years of campaigning.
Internationally Kick It Out plays a leading role in the Football Against Racism in Europe (FARE) network and has been cited as an example of good practice by the European governing body UEFA, the world governing body FIFA, the Council of Europe, the European Commission, European parliamentarians and the British Council.
